Japan Kinugasayama Park and Difficult Trail

One day Doranda took us to Kinugasayama Park for a hike.

The weather was beautiful and it was sunny and a little hot.

The trail was nice and started out up a road that was a little steep.

We saw lots of interesting wood statues along the way.

Doranda was pushing Calista in the stroller.

At the top were some beautiful views along the way.

We were going to head back but then we saw some signs to Kinugasa Castle ruins and it wasn't too far.

We were on a tall hill after having driven up most of the hill and walking the rest.

 The city below.

We decided to take the hike to the castle ruins.  The trail started down the other side of the hill.

Scarlett and Leon on one of the wooden statures.  The trail kept going down and down.  We didn't think it would be much further but it kept going and going.  Then it got all the way to the bottom, went along side the road for a while and then we crossed a foot bridge over the freeway.  Then it started up a hill on the other side and kept going and going.  We were getting so tired and so hot.

Finally we had to give up and head back.  We were exhausted and running out of water and so hot.  We crossed back over the freeway and started back up the steep hill and almost didn't make it.  Leon got heat exhaustion and started throwing up.  He was in bad shape.  Doranda had been carrying Calista and was getting exhausted too.  We couldn't make it back up the hill and she had to lay down.  I tried to take Calista on up and Penelope and Scarlett were helping me but we had to stop too.  Meanwhile Tucker went ahead to find us water, we had left extra water bottles in the stroller at the top.  He came back with the water and we revived and made it on up.  Everyone was so happy.  We had a hard time.
