Obstacle Course

For Pioneer Day our Stake (Puyallup South Stake) had a social in the fields behind the stake center.  It included a picnic and obstacle course.

From our family we had three entries in the obstacle course.  Caleb, Ashton, and James planning strategy on how to run the course and tackle the obstacles.

The race started out running through a set of tires.

Next obstacle was to carry a heavy load down a portion of the course.  Caleb started out first with the heaviest of the loads you could pick.

 Walking was fine.

A little heavy.  Why did he pick the heaviest type of the loads?

 Tire flipping obstacle.

Some of the tires are pretty big.  There was the option of smaller tires.

Heave ho, you got it Ashton.

They ran together throughout the course.  It ended with a sprint for the finish line.  Good job guys.

QCMN Mission Reunion

** Note **
We've taken a break from blogging and have not done any blog posts in about a year.  This is the first of some new posts from our stored pictures.

In April last year we had a mission reunion for the Quezon City North Mission.  The first half was for the senior couples at a cabin (owned by our Mission President and his wife at Bear River Lodge Area) in Utah in the mountains across the border from Wyoming near Evanston.

They had been getting tons of snow over the past few days, about 50 inches.  This is what we saw where the road was closed and we had to park our cars.

This is the road on out to the cabin.  We road in an off-road snow vehicle that took us out in groups.  You can see the front of it in the previous pictures.

We had a lot of fun at the cabin.  It was large and very nice.  In this pictures you see some of the senior couples.  Front row the Harringtons, who were the office couple when we were there.  Then President Bertin and his wife.  Then Sister Dickson, who were the office couple after we left.  Then Jacquelyn.  Back row the Ences, a couple there before us that were office couples.  Then the Jones, that were MLS missionaries with us and had the Baliwag II Branch.  Then the Rogers who came after us and took our place in San Ildefonso for a little while.  Then the Bremners who were MLS missionaries with us and had the Bustos Branch and lived close to us in Camilla.  Then me.  We had the San Ildefonso Branch.

In this pictures the Harringtons, Swifts, Jones, Browns (previous mission president), Bremners, Rogers, and Bertons.

We got to drive the snow mobiles around.  It was a new experience for me.  The first time I tipped it over with Jacquelyn riding behind me.  But we got it back up and going.  I tipped it over one other time also, as we were ferrying people out to get back to their cars.  But otherwise no trouble.  Others tipped over too.  It was a lot of fun.

The second part of the reunion was a dinner and program with all the junior missionaries at a church building in Salt Lake City.

It was a great reunion.  We had a lot of fun and it was nice to see all our old friends.
