Swift Family Reunion: G. Caves and Trip Home

Thursday it was all over but the clean up and the trip home.  Much thanks to everyone that worked so hard on the clean up.  We had so much fun on the Reunion.  It was just great.  And much thanks to Nathanael and Mary-Anne for planning it all out and organizing it.  It was wonderful.

On the way home some of us stopped at Minnetonka Cave for a tour.  Others went out to a favorite breakfast place or for one last sight of the lake.

While waiting for out turn to go in the cave we saw this friendly little chipmunk.

Scarlett, Tucker and Leon with face masks ready to go into the dark.

Some interesting cave formations.

Cool columns that took centuries to form.

Doranda, Beatrix, Bob, Leon, Scarlett, Jacquelyn, Penelope, Tucker, Doug and Calista at the entrance to the cave.

We stopped at Tianna's house to celebrate her and James' birthday.  Jim made a chocolate éclair cake for James.

Also Jacquelyn made Tianna a cake (with some help), 50 is a special birthday.

We also we drove down to Herriman and Nathanael took us out to see the Kennecott Copper Mine from a view point up top.  The picture doesn't do it justice.  The mine is humongous big.

I must say we had a great family reunion.  But ....

We got attacked by the COVID-19 Delta Variant.

The first to find out was Doranda's family.  They got back to Japan and had to be tested.  Doranda, Bob, and three of the children tested positive. Bob had been vaccinated and got it anyway.

Jacquelyn and I got tested then, and we both tested positive.  And we had received the vaccines too.  Jacquelyn had a cold like symptoms for a couple of days,  I had been down with a fever one day and was very weak for about three days after.

Tianna and Jim and Evan and Ashton and James all tested positive also.  And they had COVID before too, this was the second time.  Tianna and Jim were pretty sick.

Talitha and David got COVID too and were sick for a couple of weeks.

Malachi and Mallory also tested positive.

Nathanael's family all tested negative.  Jarom, Paige, Amery and Josiah did not get it fortunately.

No one in Joshua's family got tested.

In the end we all recovered.  We are fortunate nothing seriously bad happened to anyone.
