Goldfield Ghost Town

Last week we were in Arizona to visit our parents.  My Dad was sick and Jacquelyn's mom was recovering from a broken hip, so we mostly spent time with them at home, which was nice.  We're glad we had the opportunity to be there with them.  We also got to see my brother Mark and several of Jacquelyn's siblings (Linda, Rosemerry, Cathi, and Duane).

One day we went out to Goldfield Ghost Town with Mark and Angela and Kristen.  Kristen's husband Cory and daughter Chell were also there but not around when we took this picture.  Here we are at the ghost town posing in front of the awesome and beautiful Superstition Mountains.

We had fun exploring around the ghost town.  This is the old mine.  Cactus is more common in this part of the country than trees.

I though this warning sign was amusing.  I don't think anyone is going to touch an angry rattlesnake when it's raised up and shaking its rattle.  Pretty scary.

One of the old homes in the old abandoned miners town, which at one time they thought might become a bigger town than Mesa.

 The Cowboy Ten Commandments.  Funny.

We caught sight of Jacquelyn at the local bordello.

A closeup of Superstition Mountains.  They are so impressive.  I'm definitely going to hike to the top some day.

Adios Amigos.
