We drove out to Idaho to watch the solar eclipse of the sun. We first went to Joshua's house in Pocatello. Then that morning we drove an hour to the north to Idaho Falls where they were having totality of eclipse.
We had room in the car for three of the children and took the oldest, Julia, Ethan, and Christian with us. We found a nice vantage point on some small clefts overlooking a river.
In the background we could see Idaho Falls and the temple.
The eclipse started a little after 10:00 AM and the sky was clear and beautiful. The next few pictures show some shots from our camera through filtered sunglasses.
When we got totality the sky turned to twilight and it was the eeriest of sights. These are pictures of the shadows on the ground showing dozens of little eclipses.
It fantastic.
