Swift Family Reunion: C. Limber Pine Hike

 That afternoon we went on a hike called the Limber Pine Trail.

Waiting for everyone to gather.  Spencer, Penelope, Calista, Doranda, Layne, Jacquelyn, Mary-Anne, Jacob, Andrew, Malachi and Mallory.

It was really beautiful there in the woods.  We were about ready to go.

Now we're starting on the trail.

Back to the cabin we had a Cafe Rio style taco bar prepared by Joshua and Rebecca with Jacquelyn and I helping.

Swift Family Reunion: D. Hiking around the Tony Grove Lake

 That next morning on Wednesday we went hiking on the Tony Grove Lake Trail.

Here we are gathered at the start of the hike.  David took this group picture with his drone.  It was so cool.

Now we're on the trail that circled Tony Grove Lake.

This trail was at a higher altitude and had mostly pine trees and the air was cooler and crisper.

That afternoon we had a big cookout with barbecue chicken and Chinese pot stickers and fried rice.  It was at the second smaller cabin where Malachi, Layne, Andrew, Mallory, Spencer and also Jarom and Paige stayed.  They prepared all the food.

Swift Family Reunion: E. Swimming Again

 The next morning on Wednesday we went to the lake again for another fun filled day of swimming.

We got the exact same spot to set up our canopies and chairs and float devices.

We had a place for corn hole set up.

We had a crowd in the water doing all kinds of things.

Good view of the canopies and cars.  Unfortunately I spent most of the morning lying down in the dodge caravan.  I had a fever and was feeling very very tired.  I figured I had a bad cold.

We were so tired by the end of the swim time.  Calista and Tucker fell asleep in the shade.

Back at the cabin for dinner that day we had a Pasta Bar provided by Tianna and Jim and Amery and Josiah.

Swift Family Reunion: F. Miscellaneous Activities

 We had free time here and there for visiting and lots of fun activities.

We played lots and lots of games.  This is Agnes, Hannah and Penelope playing Tap Four.  And the favorite for adults was, of course, Thirteen Skidoo.  But we also had lots of time for sitting around visiting and swapping stories.  Joshua scared the little kids with a story where the bears in the woodwork come alive to eat little children at night.

James and Talitha.  James was a real trooper, he got sunburned really really bad the first day at the beach but he withstood the pain and didn't complain much.

Food, food, food, we had tons of food all the time.  Asher, Scarlett, Agnes and Hannah.

Jonathan had a boot on his leg because of an injured ankle.  But he didn't let that slow him down.  He even fell in a fast moving stream on the first day and Christian had to pull him out.

Jim gets the reward for doing the most dishes I think, and also for being the most patriotic.

We had a huge scavenger hunt contest that went on throughout the reunion.  Everyone was in teams and had to take pictures of odd things on this difficult list Nathanael made up.  This is one I took of someone reading a map.  Hannah and Agnes.

I think this was the most unusual picture.  A dog with sunglasses.

Leon with a leaf bigger than his head.  The winning team was Jarom, Paige, Amery and Josiah.  The most difficult picture to get was a snake.  Paige researched how to find a snake and they did it.

Jonathan and Asher.  Our last evening there was a trip out to LeBeau's for the famous raspberry shakes and ice cream.  It was so good.
