Dirt and Rocks

We had a huge job out at the triplex to fix up the back yard and get it ready for grass.  Jacquelyn, Caleb and I worked for about six hours. Fortunately it was a sunny day and the weather was great.

This is the finished product with Jacquelyn running the roller over the dirt after we put the grass seed down.  The yard got all messed up when they hooked us up to the sewer line and decommissioned the old septic tank system.

 It was full of rocks,  Small pieces like this and larger ones that all had to be sorted out and taken away in a wheel barrow.

Then we had five yards of dirt brought in that we spread over the area.

Mallory's Birthday

Happy birthday Mallory.  She's seven years old.

 She came over to our house and we gave her a present and Talitha came over too and gave her a present.  We went out to eat at Taco Time.

We love Mallory.  She is so sweet and is very smart.  She is fun to be around and always smiles and brightens our day.  We are so lucky to be her grandparents.

Malachi's fense

I went over to Malachi's house and helped him put up the slats on his side fense.

 He already had the posts and cross bars, so we were just putting in the slats.

 Malachi started on one end.

 Andrew and I worked from the other end and we met in the middle.  There was a metal wiring and driveway in the way, and lots of muck and leaves, so it wasn't easy.  Andrew and I got about 20 of them done.

Thank for the work project.  I enjoyed it.

Furnace Broke

Our trusty old furnace broke down and quit running.  That's the third major breakage this year already, after the transmission on my car failing and the refrigerator going dead.  Fortunately it hasn't been too cold here this week.

Luckily Malachi is helping.  He's going to find us a new furnace, which he can buy at a little over cost, and then he'll install it for us.

Jacquelyn's leaving

Jacquelyn's going away for a few weeks.  I'm going to miss having her around.

She flying out tomorrow on Southwest to visit her parents and her sisters.

While she's gone I'm going to do some appreciation posts.  I know these would be boring to others, so to see them you'll have to come back to this post and open a link I'll add below.
