Caleb and his date and also went to the Mormon Prom here locally in Puyallup. Caleb looked quite handsome.

Here's a shot of the side of our house, which we have been finishing off and finally got it done. It used to be just gravel and dirt and a place to put junk. Now it looks pretty nice. Jacquelyn figured out the design and how she wanted it to look and we hired Brother Garlick to do most of the work, although we did a lot too ourselves. He brought in a bull dozer and now it slopes away from the house so water doesn't collect against the house and it has excellent drainage. I like it.

Emerald Ridge Prom
Caleb went to the Prom for Emerald Ridge. It's called the Senior Ball. It was up at the EMP (Experience Music Project) Museum at the Seattle Science Center. Talitha was their chauffeur and drove them in her new car. We think they had a good time. Here's a picture of Caleb and his date.

Dallen
We went up to Spokane for the weekend. We got to see Dallen ordained as a Deacon in the Aaronic Priesthood. He just turned twelve. Here's Dallen looking really sharp in his new suit.
We also got to take part in a family birthday party for Dallen. We had a lot of fun but Dallen got hurt on the trampoline Sunday evening and is walking around on crutches now for a while.

It was great to visit with Tianna and Jim and their family. We even got to see Jarom while we were there. He is home from college for the summer from Notre Dame. And we got to visit with other grandchildren in the family - Amery, James, Ashton, and Evan. Over the weekend some of us did a lot of different things like playing card games, playing tennis twice, going to the Spokane Temple, going out to dinner at Mazalan, watching several episodes of Walker, playing video games, going on some walks and one hike, jumping on the trampoline, eating carmel toast, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows outside over a firepit, and going to church on Sunday.

Mother's Day
Mother's Day is a special day and we want to honor and give special thanks to our own mothers and also the mothers of our children. Jacquelyn has a great mom and here is a picture of her with Jacquelyn. Thank you for raising such a wonderful daughter. We love you.
Here is a picture of my mother with her two children, Doug (me), and Mark. She is a great mom too and we want to give special thanks to her for raising two sons and teaching us what's right. We always felt loved and we love you.

For Mother's Day we had lots of company. We had several children and grandchildren call or come for a visit. Here's a picture of Jacquelyn with little Scarlett, our newest grandchild.

Jacquelyn with Tucker and Penelope. They came and stayed with us for almost a week, lots of fun and lots of play time, while their mom was taking care of her new born baby and getting Scarlett adjusted to life.

Some of the grandchildren with Talitha during Mother's Day.

Penelope with waffles. We had lots of good food.

Another grandaughter that was over to visit. She lives pretty close so we get to see her more often.

Talitha, our second daughter, made diner for Mother's Day and we all went over to her new house for a celebration. The food was great and we had a lot of people there. There was Jacquelyn and I and two daughter, two sons, three spouses, and five grandchildren, and of course some dogs. Jacquelyn also got to talk to her other children on the phone. She was especially excited to get to talk to Isaac who is on the other side of the globe in Japan on a mission. Thank you everyone for making it a special day for Jacquelyn.

Finally, as a tribute to Jacquelyn, I've posted several pictures I like of her with various children. See if you can identify which child is which? And thank you Jacquelyn, for being such a great Mom.

Easter
On Easter we celebrated the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, which means he conquered death and actually rose from his tomb and lived again. Thanks to Christ and what he did for us, we too will be resurrected to live again after death, and through the atonement can have eternal life through faith in Christ.
We went to church on Easter in Puyallup and are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Caleb received his Eagle Scout award in a Boy Scout Court of Honor.

In the background you can see the Eagle's Nest, composed of other Eagle Scouts welcoming him as a new Eagle Scout - Malachi and Bob among the group. Three of Caleb's other brothers are also Eagle Scouts but are away and couldn't come - Isaac, Nathanael, and Joshua.
