Trip to Idaho and Utah

We made a long road trip out to Idaho and Utah, with stops at Spokane on the way out and back.  We stayed with Isaac and Kim for several days at their home in Provo, Utah.

Isaac and Kim and Joslyn.  We went for Isaac's graduation and had plenty of time to visit.

First we dropped off Caleb at BYU-I.  He's studying Mechanical Engineering.  He was probably glad to get back to school after being off on break and stuck at home with us for over three months.  We've enjoyed having him though, he was a big help with the yard and at the triplex.  He's doing good at school

We also picked up Amery in Spokane and dropped her off for school.  She's studying nursing at BYU-I and is also doing really well in school.  It was nice to spend some time with her on the drive.

It was fun to play with Joslyn and get to know our youngest grandchild.  She was a little shy around us but liked to play.  She can sit really well and can stand up holding on to things but cannot walk or talk yet.

Joselyn is very cheerful.  I think she got used to having us around.

Kim and Isaac take good care of Joslyn.  She is a lucky little girl.

We met up with Mary-Anne and Jacob and Hannah for a hike on morning to a waterfall.  It was cold but still nice to get out and hike.

Little Hannah is so cute.  She stayed in the stroller most of the time and shivered she was so cold.  But she got out some.

Jacob didn't mind the cold at all.  He was running 100 miles per hour all over the place.  He made guns out of sticks and gave us guns too and wanted us to play with him in his imaginary games fighting bad guys all during the hike.  He interacts very well with adults and wants to involve them in his play.

 Kim and Joslyn and Isaac.

 Isaac and Jacob.

On a different day Mary-Anne invited us over for dinner.  Nathanael was out of town on some training to be in the Army reserve.  Jacob was running all over the place every minute again.  I've never seen anyone with so much energy.  He loves to play with people and never stops.  He's so much fun.

Hannah was having a great time too.  She likes to watch Jacob and laugh at the things he does.  Then sometimes she tries to imitate.

Jacob was playing with swords and also throwing paper airplanes all over the house.  I don't see how Mary-Anne ever gets any rest.

A different day we went to the tulip festival at Thanksgiving Point.  It was funny when we came to this one spot Jacob immediately ran and sat down for pictures, like it was expected there.

Here's all three grandkids: Hannah, Joslyn, and Jacob.  Hannah was giving me lots of attention.  She kept wanting me to hold her hand while we walked around and also wanted me to carry her sometimes.  Maybe I remind her somewhat of Nathanael.

Joslyn was having fun.  She is so cute.  She's fun to watch and you can get smiles from her sometimes.

Me with the grandkids.  It was a great visit for us and we are so lucky to have such wonderful grandchildren.

Cinco de Mayo at Talitha

Talitha and David invited us over for a backyard Cinco de Mayo get together.  David cooked tacos and we had lots of good food to eat.

It was a lot of fun and great to all get together.  Malachi and Doranda came over with their families too.

The weather was great and  I played bocce ball with the kids.

There was also a game of yard yahtzee.

They also had a pinata and each of the kids go to go, from youngest to oldest.  Spencer was first.

 Leon was next.

 Then it was Scarlett's turn.

 Penelope was next.

 Then Mallory.

Tucker had to use a thinner bat.

 Andrew was last.

Finally all the candy got spilled out on the ground and it was a free for all.

Talitha made a dessert pizza that was the best I've ever tasted.

They had a little cake for Scarlett.

Happy birthday Scarlett.  She's going to be 4 years old.  She is such a special little girl.  We all love her so much.  What I like about Scarlett is that is so friendly and always gives me a smile when she comes over to my house.

New Ride

My Taurus was having too many transmission problems so I traded it in for a cycle.  I'm just going to keep it for the summer until August.  Can't wait until Jacquelyn gets home from Arizona so I can show it too her.

Visit to Mesa

Went down to Mesa on another trip to visit with my Dad.

Got the chance to go visit my Dad again.  It's nice to get away for a while and relax down in the desert.

He lives at Discovery Point in Mesa.  This is the front of the facility.

It's an independent living place but they have a dining room and serve two meals a day, breakfast and dinner.  It's different each day and they come around and serve you at your table.

One thing Dad does is go for two walks each day, one in the morning and one in the evening.  The weather was great and it was so nice to be out.

We did go out to eat twice.  We went to Red Lobster for dinner one evening.

For breakfast one morning we went to IHop and got rotii totii pancakes.

One morning we went to the Swap Meet.  It was an open covered place and it wasn't too crowded on a Friday.  Dad got a car duster.

We did watch a lot of TV.  We got to watching Chicago Fire in particular and must have watched 6 or 7 episodes.

One night we went to bingo back at Leisure World.  Here's dad with two friends that lived by their old house in Mesa.

 Bingo game in process.

I had a great time.  Thanks Dad.

Easter

For Easter we celebrate the day Jesus Christ over come death and rose from the grave.  He took upon him the pain of our sins so we too could rise from death also and return to heaven and have forgiveness of our sins.

We keep this in remembrance throughout the day.  We also had LDS General Conference this weekend so we were able to listen to talks by church leaders from home.

We also did some Easter Egg hunting for the children.

 Scarlett

 Penelope

Tucker.  They stayed the night so first thing in the morning they got to find three eggs each.

Leon.  We did a big Easter Egg hunt in the afternoon.

Penelope found a giant egg.  Talitha and David brought over some of the biggest eggs you've ever seen for the kids.

 Mallory.

 Penelope and Scarlett.

The adults watched from the deck.  They had an Easter Egg hunt too that was organized by Caleb.

Tucker and Andrew.  They were a little less calm in their hunting for eggs.

We also celebrated Leon's birthday with presents and a cake.

Easter is a good time to remember what Jesus did for us and to be with family.  Thank you Caleb, Doranda, Bob, Tucker, Penelope, Scarlett, Leon, Malachi, Layne, Andrew, Mallory, Talitha, and David for sharing Easter with us, and for those we talked to on the phone also.
